Last week, we looked into the hearts of people everywhere and discovered one absolute truth- we need LOVE. Not only to be loved, but to love others as well. This week, I want to help direct you to the source of Love that meets us all where we are at and wants to bring us closer to Him, to the point of sharing His home with us for eternity. for eternity.
Isaiah 53:3 NASB
“He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
Jesus knew what it was like to give everything of Himself for another- He did it for us all. He knew the pain of loneliness and rejection and the humiliation of being wrongly accused. We failed Him who had come only to bring us closer to the Father. He knew what it was like to be taunted and scorned and to be made a public mockery. Yet, He didn’t lash out. He didn’t call down the forces of Heaven to wipe His enemies from the Face of the earth; He willingly went to the cross, giving up His life for our own.
