Tale of Two Gardens by Pastor Steve Stafford Risen Ranch Cowboy ChurchMost people have understood the importance of the Garden of Eden to Judeo-Christian believers.  But many have not clearly understood the importance of the SECOND garden, and how the two relate.  Join us as Pastor Steve Stafford takes us on a walk through both of these gardens!

Genesis 2:7-8 NASB Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.  The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed.”

Acts 9

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Conversion of Saul

9  Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, but get up and enter the city, and it will be told you what you must do.” The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one. Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were open, he could see nothing; and leading him by the hand, they brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

10 Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 And the Lord said to him, “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying,12 and he has seen ]in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him, so that he might regain his sight.” 13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem; 14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; 16 for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.” 17 So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after laying his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”18 And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; 19 and he took food and was strengthened.

Sometimes,  God will lead us through challenges and life-changing events in order to increase our awareness of the calling He has placed before us.  What may seem to be a monumental task may be just what is needed to spread the word and encourage the saints.

Our finite minds tend to try to use its own logic to reason out circumstances in light of all the evidence, but God sees far beyond the horizon, including His ultimate goal for us,. If you are consciously ignoring the call that He has placed on you, don’t be surprised at some of the fallout and awakenings.  Rise up and Go.

Revelation 3:20-23

John 14:1-6, NASB

“ Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am,there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.”  Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Brock Cummins of ForeBrock Cummins Forest Park Baptist Joplin Missouri Campus Missionsst Park Baptist Church, Joplin‘s Missions department Joined us today for a deeper look into the “Whys” of the Mission Field.  Obviously, most of us are aware of the fact that Christianity is not well-received everywhere in this world, and along with many other worthy organizations, Forest Park Baptist has a big heart for those people who have not yet had the opportunity to meet Jesus our Lord!

Jesus commanded us, “Go into ALL nations…” yet many nations have closed their ears to the Gospel.  It is those areas that missionaries like Brock and others with him work to change that, literally one life at a time.

Please take the time to listen to this timely and inspirational message, and join with us in worship, as well, at Risen Ranch Cowboy Church!

Revelation 3:14-22
New International Version (NIV)
To the Church in Laodicea

14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
