Esh Family Tribute

The Esh Family - singing gospel and spreading the good news of salvation through Jesus ChristJohn and Sadie Esh were dedicated Christians, serving God and their community with unfailing passion. Their faith permeated every area of their lives; John Esh was a man of prayer who had a passion for the Glory of God and showed it in everything he put his hands to. This vision was transfused to family, friends, and anyone who came into touch with him on a personal level.

Leading their family in supporting themselves by hard work, the family built storage sheds at home, creating quite a reputation for quality work. They were actively involved in their Mennonite community, often being first to respond to needs observed around them.

The Eshes were singing together, even when their family was still quite small. Growing, eventually, to a tribe including twelve children who loved to bless the people in their community with their songs. Soon, they produced their own albums, writing many of their own songs. During this process, Sadie became enthusiastic about distributing their music, faithfully responding to telephone and mail order requests for their CDs. Even after their deaths, it is through these recordings that they continue to bless people.

The Esh children also launched out into Christian missions, as they grew. Sadly, this also brought the Esh family their first major confrontation with the sting of death; While on one such trip to the Ukraine, Johnny Esh was killed in a snowmobiling accident. It was through this experience, the Esh family learned to see God’s love in the midst of grief.

We have this confidence- the Eshes who died now live in paradise. For the remaining family, tragedy has made both their faith and their love for God more precious than ever, envisioning their family as rejoicing in eternal bliss. Determined, not to be sidetracked by temporal pain, but to look for the beauty that is God revealed through the veil.

In His Presence

Ruth 1:16 - But Ruth said, "Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.Ruth 1:16-18

But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your peopleshall be my people, and your God, my God.

17 “Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the LORD do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me.”

18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more to her.

When God prepares you for service, He has promised to prepare you, Equip you and guide you.  He is our fortress, our Rock, our covering, our shelter in  the storm.  But all of this is not to send you away from Him, but rather, to draw you closer to living IN HIM.

Throughout our walk with Him, we will go through various stages, most of which are there to craft us into His image, and to learn His was.  Sometimes, He will bring someone into your life as a helper, a friend, a guide in times of trouble.  Yes, we have this in Jesus.  But that is also something that grows within us, and God seems to see fit to pair up friends, brothers and sisters, even business partners who have that like mindset of serving Him, Following Him, and loving Him. Sometimes, we find these people in our churches and congregations, our schools, our work or even across the miles-  and His mighty Love creates a bond, that you know you can talk to that other person and they will read your heart as you speak.  As each of you go through life, you help each other through, and eventually you realize just how much a part of your life they have become;  Even in the midst of trials and tribulations and personal struggles, they are there for you, clearly demonstrating the Love of God.  That, my friends, is our own personal miracle that comes only from a life-long attempt to walk closer to Him, and to share the love, the life, the gifts that He has given you.

Romans 8:16-17 - 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.In the above verse, Ruth had become just that kind of partner, friend and companion to her mother-in-law, Naomi, and valued that relationship far more than ever having a husband, again.  Wherever she would go, Ruth would follow.  So it was with the apostles of Jesus;  in the final days of His time, here on earth, Jesus admonished his apostles to love one another as He had loved them.  As such, our relationship to each other is to be as Jesus was to each other as well.

John 13:34-35

34“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35“By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”.

Think of your time here on earth as your practice session- your preparation- to live In His Presence, for eternity, and act to each other accordingly as eternal neighbors!

John 21:17 A third time he asked him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus said, "Then feed my sheep
